He’s a big, senior dog who spent his whole life with an older lady. She died and Charlie ended up in a shelter. He was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) program.
He needs the life he had before. He’ll need a slow introduction to potential adopters. He doesn’t need lots of exercise. Some short walks. He loves his bed (and probably a couch.) He loves cuddles, sitting on laps, and taking naps. If you’re interested, download an adoption application now. Then you’ll be ready to meet Charlie when we reopen.
- For more information call 760-753-6413, visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or log on to SDpets.org.
Kennels and Cattery open 11 AM to 5 PM every day but Tuesday.
- If it’s not the right time to adopt, you can adopt other pets…or become a Virtual Foster for Charlie and sponsor him online.
Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society is closed temporarily due to COVID 19. The RCHS Thrift Shop at 120 Aberdeen Drive in Cardiff by the Sea is also temporarily closed. We’re having a baby! Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society will be having a few hundred babies in the coming months. In preparation we’ll be holding a “Kitten Baby Shower” beginning when the shelter reopens following temporary closure due to COVIS 19. The public will be invited to visit the shelter to meet the animals and donate pet supplies or funds to help purchase the baby supplies that will be needed.
