Xavier The X-Man Celebrates 25 Years on San Diego’s Magic 92.5

San Diego’s airwaves just wouldn’t be the same without the unmistakable voice, smooth delivery, and unmatched soul of
Xavier The X-Man, who this year celebrates 25 years on Magic 92.5.
A beloved personality and community leader, Xavier has spent a quarter-century entertaining, uplifting, and serving San Diego
—and he’s just getting started.

From Humble Beginnings to Radio Royalty

Before he was San Diego’s “X-Man,” Xavier originated from Northern California, where his love for music bloomed early. Growing up in the Bay Area, he fell in love with Hip Hop, Soul, oldies, funk, and by his late teens, he was already spinning records on local community radio station. His passion led him to radio stops in Salinas, San JoseSan Francisco, and Los Angeles before finally landing at Magic 92.5 in 2000.

“I knew the moment I hit the airwaves in San Diego and spoke to the listeners, this was home,” Xavier reflects.

He holds down his show weekdays from 10AM to 3PM and also hosts The X-Man’s Oldies Show every Sunday from 5PM to 8PM, a must-listen Southern California Baja Mexico tradition for Oldies, cruising classics and Latin Soul.

Community First

But Xavier’s work doesn’t end when the mic turns off.

He’s long been one of the city’s most active community advocates, donating countless hours to local charities, schools, and neighborhood events. His signature project is his annual “Xavier The X-Man’s Cruise for the Cause”, a family car show and celebration that raises funds and awareness for The Emilio Nares Foundation, helping children with cancer and their families.

“Xavier isn’t just a DJ,” says R Dub!, Program Director at Magic 92.5. “He’s a heartbeat of this station and a pillar in this community. We’re lucky to have him—and so is San Diego.”

A Legacy of Gratitude

For Xavier, the past 25 years are all about the people.

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude,” said Xavier. “To our loyal listeners, my incredible Magic 92.5 family, and this beautiful city—thank you. You’ve trusted me with your ears and your hearts, and I’ll never take that for granted.”

Listeners like Angela Benavidez of Chula Vista say the connection is mutual.

“Xavier’s been part of my life since I was in high school. His voice is home to me. He’s not just on the radio—he’s part of our family.”
