Atenea was at a shelter in Sonora with one of our rescue partners.
She was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program.

When she arrived, Atenea was very shy. Now she gets attention, walks, playtime, regular meals, and probably the first soft, cozy bed of her life.

She loves to snuggle and, if it’s okay with you, she gives kisses.

Atenea is cautious of other dogs when she’s out for a walk. We’re working with her to overcome that. She would prefer to be the only dog in her house. But she’s fine with neighbor dogs.

The $145 adoption fee for Altenea includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services.
