Magic listener, David Proulx, nominated his friend, Terry Nash, for Hometown Hero for her tireless dedication as a volunteer at the San Diego Center For The Blind.
Since 1972, the San Diego Center for the Blind (SDCB) has been dedicated to promoting independence and self-reliance for blind and vision impaired adults throughout San Diego County. The nationally recognized vision rehabilitation program provides the steps to freedom by teaching individuals the skills needed for independent living at home and in the community. This program is offered at no charge to our students and transportation is provided to and from classes. In addition, the SDCB has recently opened a Low Vision Optometric Clinic providing specialized Optometric and Occupational Therapy services for individuals who are partially sighted.

Here is David’s nomination letter for Ms. Terry:
Terry is a hometown hero because of her tireless dedication to the San Diego Center for the Blind. She has been a volunteer here for years, following her graduation from our program. She is always upbeat, supportive, caring, and deeply involved in the success and rehabilitation of our students. She often lends a helping hand to those who are new to our classes and is always there for a positive word.
