Here is Jennifer’s nomination letter for Shamine:
Shamine Linton is an amazing woman, wife, and mother who is the Founder and CEO of Sharia’s Closet, a non-profit organization that provides free gently used clothing and other essentials to individuals and families in immediate need. I met Shamine when I began volunteering for her organization and it has been an honor to be a part of her team. The amount of people she helps is astonishing and the love that goes into each bag is inspirational. It touches my heart ever time I speak with someone who is picking up a bag. They are all so very grateful. Shamine works her hardest to provide all she can for those in need. I’ve seen not only clothes, but hygiene bags, toys, food, blankets, etc., and Shamine is eager to give more if possible. She does not limit assistance to one bag, clients are welcome to request more if needed. Some clients get 2 or 3 bags. I personally love what Shamine is doing. Just last week we helped a young girl who was the victim of domestic violence and living in her car with her children. It makes me happy that there are people like Shamine out there that can help.
